Get ready for a busy travel day! Monday, December 29, 2025, is set to be the second most hectic day for holiday travel at Philadelphia International Airport.
According to predictions from PHL, over 93,000 passengers are expected to either arrive or depart from the city on this day. This number comes very close to the peak travel day, which took place just after Christmas, when nearly 94,000 travelers were on the move.
As of Monday morning, there were already around 55 flight delays and 30 cancellations reported; however, the travelers we spoke with seemed to be having a relatively smooth experience.
Hannah Melton, visiting from Panama City, Florida, noted, "I anticipated a busier atmosphere since it's just a few days after Christmas—typically when many people are traveling—but I was pleasantly surprised by how manageable it is." Meanwhile, Rob Walters from Newark, Delaware, shared his positive journey back to Philadelphia, stating, "My trip from Indiana went smoothly with a layover in Washington. There were no delays, and my luggage arrived promptly. I honestly couldn’t have asked for an easier travel day."
Interestingly, while air travel is bustling, the majority of holiday travelers will be hitting the roads instead. According to AAA, the most crowded time for road travel on Monday will be between noon and 8 PM.
